Facts You Should Know

As a consumer it is a good practice to know your rights. Please keep the following information in mind before you choose a shop for auto body repairs:

You're not required to get more than one estimate.
You may have the shop of your choice to make the repairs. You're not required to use a shop selected by a claims adjuster.
You're required by your policy to allow the insurance company a reasonable time period for inspection of damages prior to repairs.
Repair estimates will vary. A lower estimate may not include necessary items. It is YOUR vehicle. Make sure it's repaired to your satisfaction.
Secure payment from your insurance company along with any necessary endorsements from lien holders.

What to Do If You're Involved in an Accident

Stay calm; do not leave the scene.
Call law enforcement immediately.
Don't discuss your accident with anyone except the police or your insurance carrier.
Secure the names and addresses of the involved parties and witnesses.
Have your vehicle towed to Shippan Auto Body if you cannot drive it.
Notify your insurance company right away about the accident and that Shippan Auto Body will be doing the repairs.
